Fuschl am See is a beautiful Austrian resort overlooking the shores of Lake Fuschl. From this picturesque village, Salzburg is only 20 km away and Bad Ischl with its spa is about thirty kilometers away.
Guests will be fascinated by the clear air and the reflection of mountains in the crystal-clear lake. The village will make you fall in love with its traditional architecture, such as the nineteenth-century church dedicated to St. Erasmus.
Worthy of note is the ancient palace of the Hotel Schloss Fuschl, in the ancient medieval manor where the Archduke of Salzburg upheld its noble guests. Here you can stay in the romantic suite where princess Sissi used to spend the night.
The lake offers many recreational possibilities all year round. During the warmer months you can enjoy fishing: it may happen to catch even a pike of over twenty pounds or other species of fish such as trouts, whitefish, perches and chars. On the shores of the lake there is a beautiful path with magnificent views.
In winter you can walk the same path with the cross-country skiing or enjoy skating on the frozen surface of the lake and experience the exciting sailing race on ice, carried out with special sledging.
Relax and enjoy typical dumplings and sauerkraut, washed down with a tasty glass of wine or local beer. No better way to finish your meal, than sipping a typical digestive grappa, the “Schnaps.”
