Lech, Austrian town in the Land Vorarlberg of less than 1,500 residents, each year welcomes tens of thousands of tourists. It is considered one of the most beautiful towns of the northern Alps and it is famous worldwide for the efficiency and modernity of its facilities. Lech is part of the Arlberg consortium, along with other places: St. Anton, St. Christoph, Stuben and Zürs.
The full name of Lech is Lech am Arlberg and it is a center with typical alpine architecture: wooden houses, flowered balconies, stylish hotels, restaurants, bars and cafes. Lech's tourism is always in ferment, both in summer and winter, because the supply of sport, recreation or relaxation is truly complete: there is even a heated outdoor pool in the woods between Lech and the nearby town of Zug. In the village there are also some antiques that are worth seeing, as a Gothic church of the fourteenth century, farmhouses of the Walser's culture and a museum of history and culture of Walser.
Lech is situated on a plateau covered by forests and surrounded by peaks up to 3000 meters high. The ski resorts that go under the Alpine consortium of Arlberg offer up to 400 km of slopes, including downhill and off the track, almost a hundred ski lifts and 10 funiculars. From Lech it is possible to reach the massifs of Kriegerhorn and Zuger Hochlicht from which you can admire beautiful views of the surrounding valleys.

The skipass Arlberg card gives you access to all the lifts in the area. During the summer, in Lech you can enjoy Nordic Walking, in the path between Lech and Lechuferweg, crossing Omesberg, Gstüat, Bärenkopf and Zug, over six miles in the middle of woods and meadows.
For mountain bikers there is the Kriegersattel path or the Formarinsee around the homonymous lake, connected by trails to another lake, the Spullersee, at about 1800 meters of altitude. Both in these lakes, as well as along the streams of Markbach and Krumbach, with permission, you can fish for trout or char.
Lech also hosts many events and shows: during the winter, in particular, is celebrated the week of Skyclub Arlberg, or you can participate in the golf in the snow trophy. In spring there is the Jazz Festival, while in summer there is the Farmers Market on the Rüfiplatz of Lech, as well as a renowned Festival of Literature.
