Set in a 16 km long valley in the Austrian Tyrol, which embraces the Olympiaregion Seefeld, Leutasch has a long tradition of sports practiced at the highest levels. Here the Tyrol gives its best to cross-country skiers.
Leutasch, a village of theTyrol (district Innsbruck-Land), situated in a valley on the border with Bavaria / Germany - in the Olympic region of Seefeld (which includes Mösern / Buchen, Reith, Scharnitz and Seefeld), about 1,100 meters above sea level , is full of little treasures: Lake Weidach; lavishly painted facades of the houses with "Lüftlmalereien" - life stories of locals; the museum dedicated to hunting and to the writer Ludwig Ganghofer.
Then it comes to sport, which in these lands is practiced in the full respect of nature: the prince of all activities is cross-country skiing, to the extent that Olympiaregion Seefeld, with its 24 villages, is considered the main center for all Nordic disciplines. Even novices can enjoy this variety of great tracks, for a total of 279 km. Cross-country skiers can also ski on the tracks of Seefeld and Mösern, lit until 9.00 pm.
Skiers who love instead the adrenaline of the slopes, can roam along 48 km of pistes. The funpark for snowboarders is 15 km long. During the summer, children will enjoy 'the gorge of the spirit of the Leutasch Valley,' which is explorable along two paths of 2 and 3 km.
