
Between the peaks of the Kitzbüheler Horn and the Wilder Kaiser, in the heart of the Leukental Valley, lies the charming town of St. Johann in Tirol, about 670 meters above sea level. The railway station will allow easy reach of Munich, Innsbruck and also Vienna.
Thanks to the cable car, during the winter you can reach the top of the Kitzbüheler Horn to ski over 60 kilometers of slopes of various difficulty levels, but if you prefer cross-country skiing, you will find 270 km of loops.
During the summer there are hiking trails in the nature, reachable by mountain bike or horse, which take you to idyllic and quaint mountain huts serving delicious local specialties.
St. Johann in Tirol is livened up by ongoing events, such as the cross-country race "Koasalauf", one of the most important in Europe, held in January, and Jaggasn Festival, which takes place every June. In August you can watch the UCI Cycling World Cup, while in September is set up longest dumplings table in the world.
Among the various possibilities of fun, it is worth mentioning the toboggan runs, which are available also in the summer thanks to the rails, the indoor pool at your disposal till late hours and an extensive museum. An unforgettable experience will surely be a flight lesson at the sports airport, that is just a few kilometers from the town centre.
