Dubrovnik is a rare gem on the Croatian coast: it has been declared indeed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Enjoy the charm that has enchanted many artists, including, for example, Lord Byron and George Bernad Shaw.
Dubrovnik is surrounded by a lovely environment: a blue sea that laps the golden beaches and a coastline that offers breathtaking views of the islands in front of Croatia.
The main feature of the city are the 1940 meters of wall, built over the centuries and up to 25 meters high. Its perimeter can be entirely walked and is interspersed with 15 defensive towers dating from the fourteenth century.
Around via Placa Stradun, pedestrian street in the heart of the city, there are the monuments, typical cafes and shops. Right here there are also several museums, beautiful churches and monasteries.
The most important festival of the city is the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, during which you can enjoy many shows and outdoor concerts throughout the city.
Dubrovnik is famous for its culinary specialties of both marine and freshwater fish. It's worth indulging in a restaurant also to taste the local dishes as the Vitalac - a dish of roasted lamb wrapped in intestines - or the Vis – roasted anchovies, and even the Pašticada, marinated beef stuffed with bacon and garlic prepared with very thin spaghetti in a tasty sauce of red wine.
