Malá Strana is the 'Small Town', which owes its beauty to Italian artists and architects who arrived here in the second half of 1500, giving the district the baroque and renaissance style that still retains. In Mala Strana Square buildings are perfectly preserved, such as the Church of St. Nicholas and the Column of the Virgin dating back to 1715, which commemorates the end of the plague.
In the square there is also the Radnice, the former town hall that now houses a restaurant with live music. Beyond the church is the Lichtenstejnsky Palace, the Liechtenstein Palace, housing the Academy of Music. The largest building in Prague is located in Mala Strana, behind the church of St. Thomas and is the seat of the senate. From Mala Strana Square begins Nerudova Street, leading to the Castle. Above Malá Strana there is Petrin Hill - which can be reached via cable car - where there is a miniature of the Eiffel Tower. In Mala Strana there are only a few opportunities to sleep in an economical way.
