La Clusaz, a French town 1100 meters high in Haute-Savoie, is a ski resort suitable for families, providing slopes that suit all levels of ability. The elevated height makes it a tourist destination also in summer, with beautiful walks and excursions on the Aravis Mountain area.
La Clusaz is an ancient mountain village around which has developed a modern ski resort. This did not, however, transformed the town that still retains the charm of a traditional alpine village, with wood and stone houses, narrow streets and flowers on the balconies.
The ski offer of La Clusaz is good, with slopes suitable for all levels and many off-piste tracks: the only problem is that La Clusaz is not very high, so the snow on the slopes, from the top to the country, is guaranteed artificially.
Over La Clusaz there are two mountains on which to ski, Aravis and de Balme: La Clusaz is part of the area called Aravis Domain, that offers a total of 150 runs over 220 kilometers and includes even the towns of Le Grand Bornand, Lake Annecy and Manigod-l'Etale. La Clusaz offers 83 tracks of medium-high level, for a total of 130 km. For lovers of cross-country are set up over 70 miles of loops and there is a snow park and a halfpipe for fans of the board. In La Clusaz it is possible to practice all disciplines: in addition to downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and snowboarding, also carving, freeride, skwal or telemark, with the help of experts and teachers.
