
Menton, a French town in Provence-Cote d'Azur, is on the border with Italy, overlooking the Ligurian Sea. The town offers tourists all its natural and historical splendor. Surrounded by mountains that reach the sea, Menton has a long history, breathable in its streets, squares and monuments.
Legend has it that Adam and Eve, for fear of the wrath of God, cast into the sea of Menton a golden fruit stolen from Paradise, because this place remembered them of the Eden.

Places to be visited include the ancient gates of Saint Julien and Saint-Antoine, the church of Saint Michel – dating back to 1640 with a baroque facade, the defensive fortress which is also of the XVII century, Carnolès Palace - once the summer residence of the Princes of Monaco, Villa Maria Serena, with its magnificent lush garden, the botanical garden of Val Rahmeh, where there is also the Museum of Natural History.
Menton is a pleasant city to walk, especially on the waterfront, the 'promenade du soleil'. The party called the Fete du Citron, which takes place during the carnival, is one of the most important of the city and involves the entire city in the building of floats and organization of social events.
