Toulouse is the second university city in France with a university that dates back to 1230 and today provides education to over 100 000 students. This implies that hostels and cheap hotels are very popular, as well as the chance to rent rooms even for short periods. The area most frequented by students is near the Place du Capitole: from rue du Taur you dive in the 'Latin' district of Toulouse.
