Feuchtwangen, German town in Bavaria, is one of the most interesting stops along the Romantic Road, Romantische Straße, which connects Würzburg and Füssen, from Lower Franconia to the German Alps. City rich in historical monuments and attractions, Feuchtwangen is famous for many festivals and cultural events that are held throughout the year.
The historical centre of Feuchtwangen is dominated by the Market Square (Marktplatz), overlooked by the old town hall - which is today the building of tourism agency, the old-style houses, the fountain of Röhrenbrunnen 1727. From the square, a staircase leads to the Romanesque cloister, Kreuzgang, where summer festivals are held, the Kreuzgangspiele, with performances by classical and modern artists: close to the cloister you can admire the artisan workshops, Handwerkerstuben, where you can see the original equipment of antique bakers, shoemakers, tin smelters, dyers and weavers.
One of the symbols of the city is the church-convent Stiftskirche in Romanesque style. Other places of tourist interest in Feuchtwangen are the former Office of Banks, Kastenamt, the fountain of pigeons, Taubenbrünnlein, the wheat market, Schranne, which houses a collection of antique fire equipment. Along the Museumsstrasse you get to the Museum of Franconia, Fränkisches Museum - one of the best museums of folk art in Germany, and to the original singers’ museum, Sängermuseum.

However, the main attractions of Feuchtwangen are the celebrations and the festivals. In addition to the aforementioned festival of the cloister, Kreuzgangspiele, held between June and August, worth a mention the Festival of Old Town (Altstadtfest) in early June, with various entertainment activities and food stalls, Mooswiese in the autumn, which lasts five days, with exhibitions of agricultural machinery, a large amusement park and stands of beer and wine, ending with the feast of fish and game (Fisch-und Wildtage) in early November.
The Christmas Markets, Weihnachtsmarkt, close the year of celebrations in Feuchtwangen. The city is a tourist destination for Germans and foreigners: hotels in Feuchtwangen are quite busy from spring to October and especially during the many festivals of the city.
