
Friedrichshafen, city of the German Baden-Württemberg, is located on the border with Switzerland and Austria, on the north shore of Lake Constance. Here Zeppelin's airships were built. The town of Friedrichshafen, just under 60 000 inhabitants, is famous for being the home of the Zeppelin factory owned by Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin. Of course in town there is the Zeppelin Museum, near the lake, where you can see many objects used for the construction of aircrafts and on-board equipment.
The main attraction however is the large Zeppelin Museum, which on an area of 4000 square meters offers the largest collection of the history of aircrafts. The story of the Zeppelin pervades the whole city: on the main square there is a fountain dedicated to the family and also in the gardens of the centre there is a memorial by the sculptor Schneider-Manzell.
To visit there is also the symbol of the city, the Baroque church of the castle with two towers of 50 meters. Another important tower is that of the port that can be visited to get an overview of the city and the lake.
The city thrives on tourism and industry, but also on various trade fairs such as Aero – on technologies for aviation, Eurobike and InterBoot, respectively on the world of bicycles and water sports, but especially Hamradio in June, routine appointment on the world of radio amateurs.

The new trade fair in Friedrichshafen, built in the north near the airport, has 10 exhibition halls over 70 thousand square meters. Friedrichshafen is also linked to Switzerland by boat with a passenger-car ferry. The town of Friedrichshafen rises within green woods.
Friedrichshafen is involved in two major annual festivals: the International Festival of Lake Constance and the Kulturufer with concerts, shows and performances by street artists on the lakefront. The lakeside promenade, Uferpromenade, is the classic destination for shopping, for the presence of numerous boutiques and fashion shops, as well as jewelers, bars, cafes and restaurants, many of which are in traditional Alpine style.
