Rostock is the largest town in the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Located at the mouth of the Warnow River, it rises at the beginning of a large bay that ends in the Baltic seaside resort of Warnemünde. In Rostock, there are plenty of museums. Among the most important: the Museum on the History of Culture (Kulturhistorisches Museum), with collections of everyday objects from the seventeenth to the twentieth century, and the Museum of Navigation (Schiffahrtsmuseum) with many artifacts including a Swedish warship of 1628.
Rostock offers many opportunities for shopping, with shops inside the historic buildings. The main areas for strolling and shopping are streets like Kröpeliner Strasse and Lange Strasse. Around the Doberaner Platz there are clothing boutiques, but also antique stores. The mall Warnow Park is halfway between Rostock and the seaside town of Warnemünde.
