Villingen-Schwenningen is a city in Baden-Württemberg, the capital of the rural district of Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis. This is the starting point of the Deutsche Uhrenstrasse, the road of watches, a journey of more than 300 kilometers across the Black Forest that reaches a number of towns and villages famous for the construction of clocks, with workshops, studios and museums. Villingen-Schwenningen is a double city, consisting of Villingen and Schwenningen and separated by a canal. The highlight of Villinger Fastnacht is the grand parade of masks in the city centre.
