Lisbon, the beautiful capital of Portugal, is one of Europe's must-see cities. Metropolis rich in history and culture, Lisbon, offers tourist all the heritage of a city that has seen the most advanced civilizations make it full of charm and architectures of priceless beauty: from the Romans to the Arabs, until the Reconquista of 1170, and then the era of the Manuelito style, as well as that of industrialization and urbanization at the end of the nineteenth century.
For centuries, Lisbon has been the core center of exploration and trade with the new worlds. Perhaps this is why everywhere in the city you can 'breathe' the Fado, folk music played with the guitarra portuguesa and the viola do fado, which sets to music the saudade, the sadness of the separation of migrants from their homeland. But this city, far from being sad, is able to accommodate millions of tourists, who come and visit every year thanks to a hotel offer of the highest level.
Until a decade ago, the best 4 and 5 star hotels in Lisbon had rates lower than those of other European capitals, but after the development of tourism, prices have been aligned with the rest of Europe. However, in all the districts of Lisbon cheap hotels are available for those who still want to spend less and enjoy the finest service and amenities.
