Cradled in the hills overlooking the sea, Benalmàdena is a beautiful town about twenty miles south of Malaga in Spain. The large beach in front of the city, in addition to the Avenida de la Costa del Sol, has several names: Playa Las Yucas, Torrequebrada and Torrevigia, up to Punta Negra.
Benalmádena is divided into three zones, respectively called Benalmádena Pueblo - the old Arab-Andalusian part, on the slopes of the Sierra de Mijas, Benalmádena Costa - the most popular among tourists part near the beach, with many seaside resorts, and Arroyo de la Miel - which is placed between the other two areas and is the residential area, where there is also the railway station.
Benalmádena is a charming town with many places to visit and discover. Starting from the harbor with the white houses that have direct access to the boats: this is an area frequented by tourists, especially at night, for the presence of restaurants and bars. Other interesting places in the city are: the Castle Monument Colomares – a recent building in homage to Christopher Columbus; the Stupa of Benalmadena - just outside the city, a Buddhist building with a white tower; near the port, the SeaLife Acuario - hosting several marine species; the Paloma Park - where more than 450 species of wildlife live.

Around Benalmadena there are over 15 km of beaches where the days are all engaged in water sports and typical summer activities, while in the afternoon until late at night you live the nightlife, including outdoor cafés, restaurants and nightclubs. Benalmádena hotels are open all year because the city, in addition to enjoying a wonderful climate, is a good starting point for exploring Andalusia, Malaga and the nearby resorts of Torremolinos to the north and Marbella in the south.
