Hotels in Cadaqués, Spain

Cadaqués, a seaside resort on the Costa Brava in the Spanish region of Catalonia, is located on the tip of a large hill, about twenty miles from the French border. Cadaqués is located at the bottom of the only way to Cap de Creus promontory. Tourist and seaside resort, Cadaqués in turn overlooks a small bay which is the port for the plethora of coasting, fishing and boating vessels.

In the southern part of Cadaqués there are the most popular beaches frequented by tourists, El Ros, Ses Oliveres, Gran-Es Portal, Port d'Alguer, Llane y Gran Petit and Sa Conca.

The country owes its fame to the fact that in the village of Portlligat has lived for a long time Salvador Dalí: in fact you can still visit his house-museum. Many other artists have been in Cadaqués: Picasso, Federico García Lorca, painters Ramon and Antoni Pitxot, the poet Jean Aubert.

The typical white houses with red roofs of Cadaqués surround the Plaça Gran, the town's central square, overlooked by the Eglesia Parroquial de Santa Maria and a Baroque tower. In the village there are two museums, the Museo Perrot-Moore with works by Dürer, Raphael, Rubens, Picasso, Goya Matisse and the Museu d'Art. Other attractions of the city are the Parc Natural de Cap de Creus, with the house-museum of Salvador Dalí and the Casa Serinyena, in modernist architecture.
