
Denia is a town on the Spanish Costa Blanca, in the autonomous community of Valencia. It 's a very popular seaside resort that offers tourists an interesting architectural and historical heritage and the possibility to enjoy excursions in the nearby hinterland.
Denia is a seaside resort very popular with German, British and Dutch tourists. The town, just under 45 000 inhabitants, is facing a large promontory that separates the Gulf of Valencia from the Gulf of Alicante.
Denia is located at the beginning of the Costa Blanca which extends south to Cartagena, and that includes, among others, the resort of Benidorm, Alicante, Santa Pola, Torrevieja, San Javier. The coast of Denia is characterized by beautiful beaches such as Las Marinas, Les Rotes, and the pristine coastline of the marine reserve of Cabo San Antonio. From the modern port of Denia, you reach the Balearic Islands, Ibiza, Formentera, Menorca and Mallorca.
Near Denia there also other popular places such as La Jara, La Pedrera and Jesús Pobre. But in addition to being a great beach resort, Denia is an interesting starting point for walks in the mountains. Behind the town lies the Montgo National Park where you can go hiking and trekking in an environment rich in vegetation and offers breathtaking views over the coast.

In Denia there is no shortage of historical and architectural attractions. The city has a long history and has seen many occupants who have left very interesting findings. It is worth visiting the old quarters of les Roques or Baix la Mar, the Ethnological Museum, the Yacimiento de la Almadraba, a Roman villa of the first century, the Iglesia de la Asunción, the Town Council in the neoclassical style, the Castle that dominates the Bay built by the Moors, the tower of the Almadraba. The historical centre is a maze of narrow streets that lead from the castle to the port.
The main street of Denia is Calle Marques de Campo, where there are many pubs and restaurants. In Denia there are various traditional festivals, such as the feast of Bous a la Mar, held in July: for the occasion a bull runs at breakneck speed through the narrow streets and ends his run with a dip in the sea.
