Madrid hotels in Retiro area
Retiro is a typical district of Madrid's historic centre, which lends its name to the great park with a pond that comes north from Calle Alcalá up to Paseo de la Reina Cristina (to the south). Ritiro is all an interesting area with historical buildings and museums: inside the park there is the monument to King Alfonso XIII, the Palace of Velasquez, the Crystal Palace and the astronomical observatory.
To the east there is the Palacio de la Bolsa de Valores and just few metres forward the Prado Museum, in the Plaza de las Cortes. The area is very quiet and here you can found some of the most exclusive hotels of the city, but also other places like the typical tapas bars.
