Marbella is one of the most famous seaside resorts of the Costa del Sol in Spain. Halfway between Gibraltar and Malaga, Marbella and its neighbors offer their tourists a coastline of more than 25 Km. The town of Marbella is at the foot of the Sierra Blanca and has a beautiful historical centre with typical Andalusian architecture.
The main places of historical and artistic interest of Marbella are Los Naranjos square in the Renaissance style, overlooked by the Town Council of the sixteenth century and the Casa del Corregidor, dating back to the XVII century. Other places to visit include the Greater Church of the Incarnation, the Roman archaeological sites, the Basilica of Vega del Mar and the baths of Guadalmina. Do not miss the Museum of Contemporary engravings, with works by Picasso, Dalí and Miró.
But it is on the coast and beaches that Marbella’s spirit expresses itself in all its glory. The coast in front of the city is a succession of small towns and beaches stretching for about 25 km, all equipped for summer holidays, with excellent beach resorts, hotels, sports grounds, restaurants, bars and shops. One of the most exclusive resorts is Puerto Banús, with a marina where some of the most luxurious yacht sailing in the Mediterranean use to dock. Around Marbella there are numerous golf courses surrounded by very beautiful natural environments.

Some of the main towns of the coast are Cabopino, Guadalmina, the beaches of San Pedro de Alcántara - famous for its parties in October, the famous Torremolinos, Benalmadena and Fuengirola and the beach Artola-Cabo Pino, that of Casablanca, surrounded by pines and palm trees, El Alicate, El Pinillo, Los Monteros with its dunes, Nueva Andalucía with very calm waters.
Near Marbella, but inland, you can visit some very beautiful places, starting from Mijas, a charming village in the Sierra, Istán with springs that flow from the rock, Ojén more traditional village, all immersed in the Nature Park of Sierra de las Nieves. For nature lovers this is a fantastic environment to visit, full of forests and vegetation and with the opportunity to see great specimens of animals such as ibex, chamois and eagles.
