Bath is a delightful small town in the county of Somerset in the UK, best known for its spas, frequented since Roman times. Every year, tens of thousands of people visit Bath to get into its spas in the heart of the city. At their disposal there are nearly a hundred hotels and more than 200 B&Bs.
The city is two hours away from London, so it becomes a tourist destination for the citizens of the capital who want to relax in a very traditional atmosphere, although very lively. Clubs, restaurants and bars are always packed, and advanced booking at Bath’s hotels is recommended especially during the summer.
The old town of Bath is very well preserved and has been declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. In addition to the Roman Baths, worth a visit also the Gothic Abbey Church, the Guildhall Town Hall, Bridge Pulteney - one of the most beautiful in the world, with shops resembling those of Ponte Vecchio in Florence - and the beautiful crescent-shaped apartment complex Royal Crescent, in neo-classical Palladian style.
The city is also famous for the color of the stones of its residences, sandstone beige. It is worth mentioning also the Jane Austen Centre, which offers a glimpse of life at the time in which the writer lived in Bath with his family of origin, between 1801 and 1805.

Bath has many parks and gardens, such as Beazer Maze, an area in the eastern part of Beazer Gardens with a wonderful maze. But the Thermae Bath, refurbished in recent years, remains the main reason for a visit to this city on the banks of the River Avon.
