The coast of Brighton offers large and very well equipped beaches along with long walks with shops, restaurants, clubs and bars. One of the most characteristic areas of the city are the Lanes, which have maintained the appearance of the fishing village, but flow together with the social life and nightlife, with pubs, restaurants and numerous entertainment venues.

In Brighton takes place the British Gay Pride , an event which attracts hundreds of thousands of people. Other important festivals are the Brighton Festival arts festival, and the Great Escape music festival, both in May. The Soundwave Festival, in June, brings together artists of contemporary music and the Brighton Live in September is dedicated to young artists and bands.
