The district of Camden is a neighborhood north of London that stretches from Holborn and Bloomsbury up to Hampstead Heath. To the south of Camden there is the area of Westminster and the City: once Camden was Camden Town, taking the name of the first Earl of Camden who lived at the end of 1700. Once disreputable district, inhabited mainly by Irish immigrants, it became extremely fashionable and multi-ethnic in the '70s and '80s.
The Camden Market, which extends from the station of Camden Town to that of Chalk Farm, is one of the most famous markets of London. The district is bisected by the Regent's Canal, a canal with scenic route arriving up to the Little Venice. In the district there is also to visit the Jewish Museum, where they collected documents and articles about the Jewish history in recent centuries. In the district is also possible to sleep cheap in 2 or 3 stars hotels and guest houses.
