Looking at the glass and steel towers of Canary Wharf, you have the distinct impression of seeing the future when the megalopolis will be all so efficient and vertically. Canary Wharf, in the Tower Hamlets district of East End of London is a business centre, built on the port area from which the ships sailed out to the archipelago of the Canaries. The underground station of Canary Wharf is on the Jubilee Line.
Located in East London, the Docklands, raised in the former port, are very close to the City and since the sixties were a collection of abandoned and unused warehouses. Some twenty years after the area began to be occupied by artists who draw the warehouses in their laboratories up to the point that the major property developers began to take an interest transforming the area. In the area there are the Design Museum and the Tea and Coffee Museum. The area of the Docklands includes several suburbs of London: Southwark, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Greenwich.
